Judson Baptist 

Music & Worship Ministry


Judson's Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra are the cornerstone of the music ministry, and make up the weekly worship leadership for two Sunday morning worship services (9:00 & 10:30 am). Smaller teams from within make up the worship leadership for our Sunday evening service (6:00 pm). Other ministry opportunities include reaching out to the community through concerts, seasonal pageants, and other special events throughout the year. There are additional avenues for music ministry utilizing vocal and instrumental praise teams, ensembles, soloists, and more. Membership for the choir is open to everyone age 18 and over with a heart for God and a love for singing. There is no audition, and the ability to read music is not required. Membership for the orchestra is open to anyone with at least 3 years experience playing their rhythm, band or orchestral instrument. Weekly rehearsals for the choir and orchestra are Wednesday nights from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.

Sample ImageKirk Kirkland, Minister of Music & Worship

Kirk has been in music ministry for over 17 years. He earned a   Music Education degree from Florida State University and has served in several churches as a Music Associate, Instrumental Director, Worship Leader and Minister of Music. For eight years, he led the concert ministry, Evidence,  with lifelong friend, Tim Henning along with their wives, which brought him to platforms nationally and around the world. Kirk is also a published songwriter and arranger, and a studio singer in Nashville. Currently, Kirk serves as our Minister of Music & Worship. Since earning a Master's degree in Counseling in 2008, Kirk has also been serving our church as the Minister of Pastoral Counseling.

Born in Lansing, MI, Tim moved with his family to Jacksonville, FL at a young age. His family quickly became involved in the music ministry at First Baptist Church, Jacksonville. It was in Children’s Choir at the church where Tim first met Kirk. Later, Tim earned a Church Music degree from Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga. After traveling with the singing group, Evidence, Tim currently  finds himself partnered in a new way with Kirk, now here at Judson Baptist. Since moving to Nashville with his wife, Amy in 1999, Tim has been part of the Music Sales and Music Marketing Teams at LifeWay Christian Resources, which gives him great insight into his primary work at Judson, directing our Adult Choir.

Camp Kirkland, Music Associate/Orchestra

Camp has emerged as one of the premier Church musicians in the nation. He is recognized as the pioneer in establishing instrumental music as a viable medium in the life of the church music program. In 1971, he began the instrumental music program at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, FL. In addition to being a highly skilled and recognized educator, clinician and spokesman, Camp has enjoyed a brilliant career as an arranger and orchestrator. In the last several years, Camp has found a new passion, leading church musicians from all over the country on international trips across the globe with the Global Missions Project organization.
